Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 August 2026

Accountable Pricing Calculator (“Accountable”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, hold, disclose and protect your personal information when you visit our website, sign up for an account, or use our services (the “Services”).

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988(Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (“APPs”). By using the Services, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect information that you provide to us directly, including:

  • Account details— your name, email address, password, firm name and role when you register.
  • Billing details— your billing address and subscription plan. Card and payment details are processed directly by our payment provider (Stripe) and are not stored on our servers.
  • Firm and pricing data— the services, pricing inputs, revenue segments, saved quotes and client-facing proposals you create in the calculator.
  • Communications— details you provide when you contact us via forms, email or support requests.

We also collect information automatically when you use the Services:

  • Usage data— pages visited, features used, click events, referring URLs and session duration, collected via analytics tools (including PostHog).
  • Device and log data— IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers and timestamps.
  • Cookies and similar technologies— used to keep you signed in, remember preferences and measure how the Services are used.

2. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, operate and improve the Services;
  • Create and manage your account, process subscriptions and issue receipts;
  • Communicate with you about your account, updates, new features and important notices;
  • Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries;
  • Analyse usage patterns to improve product performance and user experience;
  • Prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations.

We will only use your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, or for a directly related purpose that you would reasonably expect, unless we obtain your consent to another use.

3. Marketing communications

With your consent, we may send you marketing emails about features, offers or content we think may be of interest to you. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email or by contacting us. Transactional messages (such as billing notices) will still be sent as required to operate your account.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

  • With service providers who help us operate the Services (for example, cloud hosting, payment processing, analytics, email delivery and customer support tools). These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
  • With members of your firm— if you are invited to an organisation, account owners and administrators of that organisation may see information you contribute to their workspace.
  • Where required by law— to comply with a subpoena, court order or other legal obligation, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of our users or others.
  • In a business transaction— if we are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.

5. Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers are located outside Australia (including in the United States and the European Union). Where we transfer personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient handles it in a manner consistent with the APPs.

6. Data security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. This includes encryption in transit, access controls, secure hosting infrastructure and regular reviews of our practices. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Services, meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

8. Your rights

Under Australian privacy law, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal information we hold about you;
  • Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or out of date;
  • Withdraw consent to marketing communications at any time;
  • Ask us to delete your account and associated personal information;
  • Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before actioning your request. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.

9. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, understand how you use the Services and improve performance. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality.

10. Third-party links

Our website may contain links to third-party sites. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any third-party service you use.

11. Children

The Services are intended for professional use and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where the changes are material, notify you by email or through the Services. Your continued use of the Services after any change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
